Engineering Manager

Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games. We’re looking for a technical, hands-on, and mission-focused Engineering Manager to lead our Experiences team within the Growth organization. Experiences team is responsible for resolving key pain points that help grow, engage, and retain users and grow the Discord community. You will work with a team of full stack engineers and cross functional partners to execute on a critical strategic mission for our business. What You'll Be Doing Work with Product, Design, Data Science and Marketing to define and execute on the roadmap for growth initiatives. Build a team of engaged full stack engineers by hiring, coaching, and instilling best practices. Use experimentation and metrics to drive continuous improvement in activation and retention. Use your technical expertise and ensure your team delivers extraordinary results at the high technical level we set. Collaborate across the company to improve existing products and primitives at scale. Partner with leadership on strategic planning and on improving the Engineering organization.
