ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES The Tucson Convention Center, including the Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater, has an opening for a skilled Senior Events Manager.
ResponsibilitiesSupervises staff and oversees all aspects of facility operations related to events.
Assist in hiring, training and supervising Event Services staff.
Meets with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events.
Coordinates activities with the various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events.
Guides clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies and procedures.
Keeps clients informed as to status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements and other relevant details.
Prepares cost estimates and monitors final billing.
Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments and clients.
Maintains thorough and complete event records.
Monitors and supervises facility set-up when necessary.
Serves as primary liaison between clients and facility departments.
Monitors in-house events, maintaining close contact with clients and facility staff to ensure successful events.
Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staffFollows-up on all client requests, concerns, and problems.
Attends appropriate planning, organization and other events and facility meetings in support of facility operationsWork with relevant departments and vendors to provide prompt invoices.
Distribute Three-Week Schedule of eventsDevelop policies and procedures for the Event Services, Guest Services and Parking Department and monitor their compliance.
Serves as MOD (Manager on Duty) as required.
Perform other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESWill serve as the resource for training the Event Services team on administrative and event day procedures.
Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.

Theater Experience a plus.
Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services and equipment for a similar facility.
Operate AutoCAD design software preferred.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and AutoCAD design software preferred.
