Working under the direction and supervision of the Director of Medical, the Head Athletic Trainer will deliver day-to-day sports medicine operations for Angel City FC. The role will provide injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for players' medical problems. The role reports to the Director of Medical and collaborates closely with the club’s Chief Medical Officer, Director of Rehabilitation, Director of Performance, Head of Sport Science, Assistant Athletic Trainer, Senior Performance Therapist, Head Coach and Technical Staff, Director of Soccer Operations and our Sporting Director. Responsibilities:Lead as Head Athletic Trainer in managing the healthcare of Angel City FC players. Health care includes, but is not limited to, first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of intervention techniques, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and appropriate medical referrals. Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Chief Medical Officer, Team Physicians, Director of Medical, Director of Performance, Head of Sport Science, Director of Rehabilitation, Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Team Dieticians, Massage therapists, Chiropractors, Technical Staff, Performance coaches, and Soccer Operations staffCreate a culture and environment of high performance, commitment and excellence through education, collaboration, feedback and continual learningCoordinate internal communications through the appropriate channels, including collecting, collaborating, preparing and delivering reports on departmental functionComplete all administrative work pertaining to the player’s medical insuranceCoordinate internal communications through the appropriate channels, including collecting, collaborating, preparing and delivering reports on departmental functionLead, develop and deliver athletic training services to Angel City players, including but not limited to: primary on-field and secondary off-field injury evaluation, first aid and emergency care, utilize therapeutic modalities for injury treatment, collaborate in the design of rehabilitation programsEnsure the electronic documentation of accurate first report of injury, physician diagnosis, player assessments, player treatments, and return to play datesComply with all NWSL standards, including compiling required reports, recording and documenting injured players and player treatments, participating in activities and programs as required by NWSL, and organizing physical examinationsWork closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Director of Medical, Director of Performance, and Director of Rehabilitation to provide required updates on players’ health and seek medical advice and assistance when necessarySupervise and develop assistant athletic trainers and internsDemonstrate excellent interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, colleagues and league staffMaintain a high level of confidentiality as it pertains to information surrounding the players and the clubSeek out and actively participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities in the field of sports medicineOversee inventory of supplies and clinical equipmentMaintain a safe, clean and organized athletic training room and clinicRecommended Qualifications:Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in the field of Athletic TrainingPrevious experience working with elite athletes in a team sport setting, preferably soccerUnderstanding of and application of data-informed rehabilitationOther pertinent certifications related to healthcare and well-being of athletes including dry needling, CPSS etc. RequirementsNATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer, in good standingLicensed to practice in the state of CaliforniaCPR Certified by the American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationPossess personal professional liability insuranceExperience working with elite athletes in a high performance environment, professional soccer experience a plusACFC Perks & BenefitsFully funded comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401K planFlexible PTO policyPaid Parental LeaveCell Phone reimbursementDaily catered lunchComplimentary tickets to home gamesBi-annual performance reviewsCOMPENSATIONIn addition to the benefits above, this role has a pay range between $110k to $120k.
