USC Athletics is looking to hire an Assistant Director of Football Equipment Operations to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for ensuring the football equipment room and needs of the football team are met daily, as well as assisting with various sports and the equipment room.
Reporting directly to the Director of Football Equipment Operations, the Assistant Director of Football Equipment Operations will work in collaboration with Equipment, Football Operations, Recruiting, Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning, Creative, and Facilities departments.

This is an exempt position. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including availability early mornings, evening hours, and weekends, is required.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee and actively support the day-to-day operations of the football equipment room, ensuring efficient service delivery to student-athletes and staff.
Coordinate football equipment operations in support of practices, games, recruiting activities, and special events.
Manage locker room operations, including equipment distribution, organization, and daily player service needs.
Plan and execute equipment logistics for home contests, away travel, postseason competition, and other team-related events.
Ensure operational readiness, maintenance, and safety compliance of helmets, shoulder pads, and all protective equipment in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
Oversee the laundering and maintenance of uniforms, practice gear, and staff apparel to ensure quality and availability.
Assist in the supervision, training, and development of student equipment managers and support staff.
Maintain accurate inventory control using Teamworks Inventory Management, ensuring compliance with NCAA, Big Ten, and institutional policies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with coaching staff, sports medicine, strength & conditioning, football operations, recruiting, and facilities to support daily program needs.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years working in a collegiate or professional football equipment operation.
Certified Athletic Equipment Manager (or able to receive AEMA certification within 1 year).
Ability to lift, push, and pull 100+ lbs.
Valid driver’s license is required. Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System. A copy of DMV record will be required as a final condition of employment. For more information, please visit the policy website.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Front Rush.
Experience working in higher education and/or a sports related field ideal.

The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $87,000.
