POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Accountant - Venue Accounting provides accounting services for SFC-managed facilities. experienced leadership who are committed to mentorship, professional development, and helping team members expand their technical accounting. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Prepare, review, and post journal entries accurately and on a timely basis as part of the monthly close cycleOversee and reconcile daily financial activity from client point-of-sale platforms and ensure accurate recording within the general ledgerReview and monitor client deposits, cash activity, and funding requirements to support ongoing operational and payroll needsMonitor bank balances and cash flow activity to proactively identify funding needs and support timely vendor payments and payroll obligationsPrepare and analyze weekly and monthly reporting packages for the facility General Managers and leadership teamsPerform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment applications, and follow up on vendor payments and collectionsPerform bank and credit card reconciliationsAssist clients with the preparation and analysis of budgets and financial forecastsPrepare and file client sales and use tax returns, ensuring accurate recording and timely remittance to the appropriate taxing jurisdictionsAnalyze financial results and operational trends, providing insights and recommendations to managementMentor and provide guidance to Staff Accountants and newer team membersComplete any other special projects and daily assignments as directed by managementEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in accountingMinimum of 3 years of accounting experience preferred, including experience in month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliationsExperience in multi-entity, hospitality, sports, entertainment, or service-based industries a plusAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and lookups Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processesExperience with Accounting ERP's, with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience preferredDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and month-end close deliverables in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both financial and operational leadershipClient-focused mindset with a commitment to responsiveness, accountability, and exceptional client service Ability to analyze financial information, identify variances or trends, and provide meaningful insights and recommendationsAbility to work independently while also mentoring and supporting junior accounting team membersTRAVEL DEMANDSAbility to travel overnight to venue locations approximately 10% of the timeWHAT YOU'LL GAIN:Exposure to experienced leadership with backgrounds in both public accounting and private industry across a variety of industry sectorsOpportunity to work closely with accessible and supportive leadership committed to employee development and mentorshipClear opportunities for career growth and advancement within a growing organizationOngoing training and professional development to enhance technical accounting, operational, and leadership skillsCollaborative environment that encourages continuous learning, cross-functional experience, and professional growthOpportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting clients and operations across multiple industries and business environment
