Job Summary:The Official’s Coordinator is a core role within USA Fencing’s Events Department, providing customer service and oversight for the tournament officials the organization relies upon to execute our sanctioned tournaments and other programming. This role is responsible for management of various programs operated by the USA Fencing National Office and the Referees’ Commission (RC) and will report to the Director of Events. Primary Responsibilities:Serve as a primary customer service contact for the Events Department, fielding incoming calls, emails and support ticketsTroubleshoot possible issues with USA Fencing's referee education curriculum and exam softwareServe as staff liaison to Referees’ Commission and Black Card Review Group, attending meetings and reporting back on action items and updates as relevantPlan and coordinate annual Referees Commission in person meeting, including contracting hotel and AV services, planning travel and communicating details to attendeesResponsible for regular updating and ensuring information accuracy on all pages of the website relating to various officials’ groups, policies and requirements Oversee USA Fencing Gold Start Program and other community initiatives to encourage positive engagement with developing referees Review and process approvals for official flight bookings for national tournaments Assist National Events Manager in construction of pay sheets for officials per diem and honorarium for national tournament Assist National Events Manager in construction of hotel rooming lists for national tournaments Review and process officials’ reimbursements following national tournaments Assist in processing of withdrawal requests for national tournaments Other duties as assignedQualifications Bachelor’s degree required - Sports Management or Education areas of emphasis preferred 1-2 years of customer service experience preferred Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, able to manage multiple sets of high priority projects and tasksExcellent customer service skills, maintaining patient/calm demeanor even with customers that may be escalated or upset Proficient skills with Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel and PowerpointAbility to quickly learn and effectively utilize new systems and software Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work in environment where priorities may change frequently, and doing so with enthusiasm Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStarting Hourly Range Salary: $58,000–$60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and location. Preferred location: hybrid; fully remote may be considered for the right candidate.
