OverviewThe office Assistant Plays a Critical Role in the Customer Service Experience at Islanders Ice Center Facilities. duties as assigned. Must be able to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. Essential Functions:Empowered to insure the highest level of customer service under all circumstances and work with other staff members so that they do the sameBe knowledgeable about all programs and services at the arenaCandidates should be friendly and hard working with customer service experience; have good communication skillsPerform all customer service functions including class registration, public session, freestyle and open hockey admission, answering of telephones, and assisting with skate rental as neededAssist with administration of all skating and hockey programs including freestyle and open hockey attendance audits, creation of badges and attendance sheets for skating programs, and medical information for summer camp participantsCreate and edit marketing materials for public skate, skating and hockey programs, and freestyleAssist in training other office staff members. Uphold/enforce policies and procedures regarding customer credits and refunds for programs not attendedHave knowledge and training in First Aid and CPR and insure that safety practices are followed at the arenaQualificationsCandidates should be friendly and hard working with customer service experience; have good communication skills. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite Programs, Google Sheets and other word processing programsStrong writing skillsExperience with POS Software and Microsoft Office 360 ProgramsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, lift, bend, and move for extended periods during a shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including cold rink environments.
