The Kansas City Current is looking for an Intern, Venue Operations to support our Venue Operations team with preparing our facilities for various events. This role will support the Director, Venue Operations in day-to-day needs at CPKC Stadium and The University of Kansas Health System Training Facility.
Venue Operations team members are responsible for converting the building for various events including installation and removal retractable seating, stages, moving furniture and various other duties involving set up for each event. This is a season-long internship continuing until the end of the 2026 NWSL Season.
What will you do?Assist with event setups, changeovers, and operational tasks as directed by the manager and supervisor which may include tables, flooring, portable seating, etc.
Perform facility operational tasks on event days including storage of equipment, furniture, tools, and identifying damaged equipment.
Provide on-site event support, troubleshooting issues as they arise and communicating with internal teams.
Assist in managing event parking and transportation logistics. Learn and help optimize plans for smooth event execution.
Support venue operation leadership in daily tasks, providing administrative support as necessary.
Contribute to the team dynamic by assisting coworkers, maintaining the facilities’ cleanliness and helping to develop and maintain a positive work environment.
Other duties as assigned. What do you need to succeed?Ability to understand, follow directions, and perform assembly set-up job functions under limited supervision.
Must be able to do repeated lifting, bending, standing, squatting/push, pull with arms, stoop and walk for extended periods of time.
Working knowledge of assembly operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, wrenches, hammers, drills, impact wrenches, allen wrenches, and screwdrivers.
Ability to meet deadlines and function in a fast-paced setting efficiently and safely.
Must be able to work with a team and have a professional attitude and appearance.
Ability to lift/push/pull/kneel or otherwise move approx. 75 lbs.
Must be able to work under pressure, in time sensitive operations, in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
