Broadcast Intern Job DescriptionJob Description:The participant will work under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Broadcasting and Vice President of Communications & Digital Media and will be introduced to the broadcasting and media relations aspects of a professional sports team. Candidates should have flexible schedules to be at the arena for practices and morning skates and all home games. Candidates may also be required in studio for select road games throughout the season. Objective/Goals: The internship will provide hands-on experience by working closely with the Crunch radio/television broadcaster. Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation for the Crunch radio/television broadcastsProvide relevant statistics for the Crunch radio/television broadcastsPossibility of on-air experience for radio broadcastsContribute to radio broadcasts via packaged storiesConduct interviews with players and coaches for the broadcasts and other forms of media outletsContribute to the content of the game day press notesWork home games, events and select road games (remotely in studio) as necessaryPerform other duties as assigned in the areas of media relationsQualified candidates may contribute to any of the team’s official podcastsQualifications:Candidate should be an undergraduate or graduate student interested in seeking a career in sports broadcasting or journalismStrong creative, organizational, written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of the rules of ice hockey strongly recommendedExperience in sports preferred, but not necessaryAbility to work flexible hours including nights and weekendsPerform other duties as assignedTime:Duration of the 2026-27 Syracuse Crunch season15-20 hours per week (negotiable)Attendance at a minimum of one (1) practice or morning skate each weekAdditional team events (annual holiday party, community events, etc.s Compensation:This is a non-paid internship. When negotiated with each individual college, credit will be granted. There is parking reimbursement.
