SECTION STAFF MISSION:To provide a first class experience for WNYPGA Members and Foundation benefactors in all tournaments, events, initiatives, and programming. The Executive Director and Section have a true passion for career development and future employment mentorship. The goal would be to work with the PGA WORKS Fellow on their career development while they are employed by the Western New York PGA Section. OVERALL JOB SUMMARY:The primary focus of this position will be to assist the Western NY PGA REACH Foundation in executing PGA REACH programs in the Youth, Military, and Diversity & Inclusion pillars. National PGA REACH program examples include:● YOUTH Pillar | PGA Jr League (PGAJL) is a fun, social, and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 18 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. The kids learn the game among their peers with professional instruction and direction from PGA/LPGAProfessionals who serve as team captains. Parents also play an active role, making the program a family activity to create a generation of players to enjoy the game.● MILITARY Pillar | PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH and is designed to introduce golf to veterans with disabilities in order to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well being.● DIVERSITY & INCLUSION Pillar | PGA WORKS is a workforce diversification strategic initiative designed to evolve the demographic composition of the golf industry workforce and develop a robust pool of talent from diverse backgrounds who are prepared to ascend to key employment positions in the business of golf. Experience Required● A “can do” attitude with dynamic personality● Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies and platforms● Undergraduate Degree● Valid driver’s license is required● Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required● Excellent computer skills, particularly with Google Workspace● Skills in social media marketing and communications● Well organized, punctual, and energetic● Ability to work in a team environment and travel● Ability to work overtime, including some weekends● Ability to have a flexible schedule● Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorshipEssential ResponsibilitiesPGA WORKS Fellowship duties include but are not limited to:● Support all facets of WNYPGA Section and PGA REACH WNY foundation operations including event execution, communications, logistics, scheduling, budgeting, billing, site and member recruitment, promotional strategies, and sponsor activation.● Document WNYPGA Section and PGA REACH WNY activities, sharing updates with both local and national PGA REACH public relations and social media channels.● Support fundraising initiatives for the WNYPGA Section and PGA REACH WNY foundation as required.● Support PGA HOPE operational and programming needs by managing marketing and PR efforts, keeping track of reports, and coordinating veteran volunteers.● Promote PGA Jr. League programs and help recruit participating PGA Members.● Manage and execute all operational aspects of the Section's Drive, Chip & Putt events across local, sub regional, and regional stages, when applicable, partnering closely with Augusta National Golf Club, the USGA, and the PGA of America.● Support the daily administration of PGA REACH WNY programs including partner relations, communications, instruction, data tracking, and marketing/PR efforts.● Help coordinate, manage on site operations, configure tournament setups, arrange pairings, and oversee post event social media and communications for Section Tournaments, the WNYPGA Junior Tour, and PGA Jr. League, as needed.● Help coordinate fundraising campaigns, including the Duster Challenge and Birdie Bash, through event planning, promotional efforts, committee assistance, communication management, and donor/sponsor tracking.● Support marketing, public relations, and communications efforts for the PGA REACH WNY Foundation including creating content, handling email outreach, maintaining the website, and managing social media channels.● Support both the Western NY PGA REACH Foundation and national PGA WORKS initiatives in raising awareness for the PGA WORKS Fellowship to attract prospective applicants for the local Section. Benefits● Salary: 6 month term stipend at $17/hour for 40 hours a week● Strategic Plan merit based bonus potential of up to $500● Reimbursement for work related travel at IRS rate● Laptop and other technology provided● Staff uniforms provided● Playing and practice privileges at the homesite, Glen Oak GC, during golf season and on simulators in the off season
