Communications/Journalist Intern

The Upper Valley Nighthawks are a collegiate summer baseball team based in White River Junction, Vermont, competing in the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL).f Responsibilities: Serve as a communications intern for all home games (22+) throughout the NECBL season, with the potential of traveling to select away games as wellContribute game previews, recaps, features and other written media as needed for the team website in collaboration with the Director of CommunicationsCoordinate with the creative & broadcast teams to promote key storylinesCollaborate in creation of promotions calendar for home games and other in-season promotionsGather and compile stats and analytics for broadcast notes prior to each gameAssist with planning and execution of game day entertainmentAssist in the setup and teardown of all media equipmentOther duties as assignedRequirements: Currently enrolled in a Communications, Journalism, Sports Media, or related majorWillingness to work as part of a team and familyFlexibility to attend online pre-season team meeting and NECBL league training sessionsPossess leadership qualities with the ability to collaborate and guide other team members in a professional environmentDemonstrated self-motivation, organization, and attention to detailAbility to problem-solve quickly and remain calm under pressureCapable of multitasking in a fast-paced, team-oriented settingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBaseball knowledge and prior experience with baseball statistics strongly preferredBenefits:Housing provided ($600 for the entire summer)Gym membership included (River Valley Club)Free meals after every home game and additional free weekly meals from local restaurantsPlease include 3-5 writing samples with your applicationWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
