About MLV DCMLV DC will compete as one of five expansion teams in the 2027 season and deliver women’s professional volleyball, one of the fastest growing sports, to the nation’s capital. Anchored in strong regional youth participation, abundant collegiate talent, and an avid local sports fanbase, the franchise will strengthen the major-league footprint of the District and cement it as the Sports Capital. All United Sports and Entertainment (AUSE), led by CEO Jason Levien, adds the team to its robust roster which also includes DC United and DC Power.
Position SummaryThe Technical Coordinator is an integral member of the MLV DC coaching staff, responsible for collecting, analyzing, and communicating statistical and performance data to support coaching decisions. This individual will oversee all match and practice analytics using VolleyStation and provide real-time information that enhances team preparation, player development, and in-match strategy.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient in VolleyStation and understands every aspect of the platform, including data collection, statistical analysis, video integration, scouting, and reporting. This position requires strong volleyball knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate meaningful statistical trends to the coaching staff in real time.
The Technical Coordinator is considered an essential member of the volleyball operations staff and will travel with the team throughout the season.
Primary ResponsibilitiesMatch Statistics & Analytics:Serve as the team’s primary statistician during all matches using VolleyStation.
Collect real-time statistical data throughout competition.
Monitor team and opponent performance trends as they develop during matches.
Provide coaches with timely statistical insights to support tactical and lineup decisions.
Identify strengths, weaknesses, and momentum shifts through live statistical analysis.
Practice Statistics:Record and analyze practice statistics using VolleyStation.
Track individual and team performance throughout training sessions.
Provide objective performance data to assist the coaching staff to evaluate player development and determine lineups.
Generate reports that support roster decisions and athlete performance evaluations. Opponent Scouting:Work collaboratively with the coaching staff to prepare comprehensive scouting reports.
Analyze opponent tendencies using statistical and video data.
Create visual scouting presentations highlighting (but not limited to): Offensive tendenciesServing patterns Blocking systems Defensive positioningRotation efficiencies Individual player tendencies Assist coaches in developing match plans based on statistical analysis.
Video & Performance Analysis:Organize and maintain the team’s VolleyStation database.
Synchronize video and statistical data for player and team review.
Create highlight clips and teaching videos for coaches and athletes.
Assist with post-match analysis and performance breakdowns.
Collaboration:Attend coaching staff meetings.
Assist in developing data-driven strategies for practices and competition.
Communicate statistical trends clearly and efficiently before, during, and after matches.
Support player development through objective performance analysis.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:Extensive experience using VolleyStation at an advanced level.
Thorough understanding of all VolleyStation features, including live coding, statistical analysis, scouting, reporting, and video integration.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining statistical accuracy.
Strong understanding of high-level volleyball strategy and tactics – including volleyball rotations, offensive systems, and defensive strategies.
Experience providing live match analytics to coaches.
Experience preparing professional scouting reports and presentations.
Experience using Volleymetrics to aid in recruiting future players.
Familiarity with additional volleyball performance software and video editing platforms.
Previous experience with collegiate, professional, or national team volleyball.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Additional Details:Based in the Washington, DC region – working primarily out of MLV DC’s training facility and home playing venue.
Travel with the team throughout the season to away matches.
Ability to lift and move technical volleyball equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.

Develop statistical templates, coding systems, and reporting formats.
Work with the coaching staff to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for individual athletes and the team.
Prepare scouting report templates and visual presentation formats.
Coordinate technology needs for practices and matches (hardware and software).
Ensure all statistical, video, and reporting systems are fully operational before the team’s first competition.
