This position supports both grounds maintenance and venue cleanliness to ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and guest-ready at all times. The Groundskeeper is responsible for assisting the Grounds Lead in maintaining the overall appearance of the venue by performing landscaping support, general exterior cleaning, and event-related cleanup. Duties include the use of tools, equipment, and approved chemicals in accordance with all safety procedures and operational standards. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Dig holes for plants and trees using hand tools such as shovels and picksMix soil, fertilizer, and other materials to prepare planting areasPlant trees, shrubs, and flowers in designated locationsStake and secure newly planted trees using ties or wireHaul, spread, and level topsoil using wheelbarrows, rakes, and similar toolsWater lawns, plants, and landscaped areas using hoses or portable irrigation systemsApply fertilizer or seed to support turf and plant growthPerform basic lawn care including mowing, edging, trimming, and hedge maintenanceOperate landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment as requiredPerform routine cleaning of exterior venue areas including plazas, walkways, and entrancesRemove trash, debris, and recyclables before, during, and after eventsEmpty and maintain trash and recycling receptacles throughout the propertyConduct post-event cleanup, including sweeping and resetting exterior areasPerform spot cleaning or power washing of hard surfaces as neededAssist with light debris removal and general site presentation tasksReport safety hazards, spills, or maintenance concerns promptlySupport Conversion and Event Operations teams during event turnover periodsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities. QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferred1–2 years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, custodial work, or facility maintenanceEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredSkills and AbilitiesAbility to follow instructions and work with minimal supervisionBasic knowledge of landscaping tools, cleaning equipment, and power toolsAbility to read and follow chemical and fertilizer labels safelyStrong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detailGood communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work weekends, holidays, and event-based schedulesPhysical Requirements / Work EnvironmentRegular outdoor work in varying weather conditionsFrequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and liftingAbility to lift and/or move up to 50–100 pounds as requiredExposure to outdoor elements, noise, and event environmentsMust be able to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periodsAdditional InformationThe essential responsibilities described above are representative of this position and may be modified as operational needs require. duties.
