Minimum RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degreeExperiencePrevious work/educational experiences that have prepared the candidate for a start in professional baseball. SkillSIndependent judgment and ability to multitask are required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload. Must be trustworthy and comfortable managing sensitive information; HIPAA compliance and discretion are required. High level of interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with a wide range of departments, seniority levels, and personalities. Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications and communication platforms in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EMR, and Slack). OtherSpoken and written fluency in English. Ability to travel within the United States. Must be willing to relocate for the season. CPR/AED CertificationDesired Requirements: ExperiencePrevious work/educational experiences that have prepared the candidate for a start in professional baseball. SkillsSpoken and written fluency in Spanish preferred. Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesTraining Oversight & Safety - 40%Handle and support daily player care responsibilities. Ensure proper field & dug-out set-up and preparation to ensure a safe playing environment for the health and well-being of players and staff. Operations & Support – 30%Maintain and operate an organized and functional professional athletic training room. Assist with the prevention and care of athletic injuries. Manage evaluation of injuries and general medical ailments. Administrative & Other - 20%All other duties assigned by the Staff Minor League Athletic Trainer. Communication & Coordination – 10%Interact and collaborate with Team Physicians, Cincinnati Reds staff, and the affiliate’s front office/support personnel. Ensure proper medical record-keeping and reporting procedures. Reports To:Coordinator of Minor League Athletic Training Next Role to Develop Toward: Performance-basedPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the day. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (equipment, medical equipment, etc.). Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb stairs regularly in the course of daily dutiesComfortable working in varying conditions (heat, humidity, cold, outdoors, confined spaces like locker rooms). Ability to handle repetitive tasks such as equipment setup. Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks like organizing equipment, using computer programs. and performing hands-on therapy. Ability to remain on feet to work long and variable hours, including weekends and holidays. Expectations:Adhere to Cincinnati Reds Organization Policies and Procedures. Act as a role model within and outside the Cincinnati Reds Organization. Perform duties as workload necessitates.
