Job Description
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the Finance department. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Finance. The Senior Accountant will analyze and book intercompany accounting, work with departments for revenue recognition for all non-settlement-based revenue and reconcile the corresponding deferred revenue accounts. The Senior Accountant will assist in the budgeting and forecast process. This position supports the finance team to complete all period end reporting and reviews such as an annual audit and tax returns.
Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:Book revenue journal entries for all revenue streams of the company, aside from event settlementsMaintain and reconcile general ledger accountsIdentify and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerPrepare ticketing settlement workbooksCalculate City ticket tax on ticketed events at the stadiumComplete game day reporting to the league and assist in league required reportingAnalyze incoming cash and book weekly cash transfersReconcile and book intercompany transactions and cash transfersSupport budgeting and forecasting processesReviewing GL Data for Coding Changes and posting coding change requests from Budget ownersAssist in the annual financial statement audit and tax returnsProvide guidance and review work of team accountantsEnsure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirementsAnalyze accounting processes and provide efficiencies by utilizing AI or existing softwareRequirements:Minimum 5-10 years in an accounting or auditing roleAttention to detail; strong organizational capabilityAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlinesCustomer-service oriented Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to work independently Proven ability to handle confidential information Education:Bachelor degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience:Proficient in Microsoft office applications, especially Excel – PIVOTS, V/X Lookups, SUMIFsAccount reconciliationsExperience in NetSuite or equivalent ERP system required (NetSuite strongly preferred)Experience with budgeting in FP&A software, NetSuite Planning & Budgeting preferredWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
