The Compliance Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring adherence to U.
S.
requirements, background check protocols, and U.
S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) standards. This position is essential to maintaining USA Triathlon’s integrity, supporting athletes and constituents, and upholding compliance across a highly regulated environment.
You’ll collaborate across departments, support key compliance initiatives, and help strengthen systems that protect athletes and the broader multisport community.
What You’ll DoMonitor and enforce SafeSport training and compliance requirements across multiple constituent groupsManage and track background check processes to ensure organizational complianceStay current on legislative and regulatory updates, ensuring internal policies remain alignedServe as a primary SafeSport contact, assisting and troubleshooting for constituentsIdentify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline compliance processesDevelop and distribute compliance communications to internal teams, board members, and external stakeholdersAdminister annual conflict of interest disclosures for staff, board members, and committeesSupport annual SafeSport audits and compliance reviewsMaintain accurate compliance-related content on the organization’s websiteAssist with ongoing compliance projects and initiatives as directed by Legal leadershipWhat You BringStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCritical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesSelf-starter mindset with the ability to work independentlyCollaborative approach with the ability to work across teams and departmentsAdaptability in a dynamic, evolving environmentPositive, team-oriented attitudeQualificationsAssociate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred2+ years of experience in legal, compliance, or sports-related compliance preferredInterest in sports administration, compliance, or law strongly preferredExperience with Microsoft Office Suite requiredFamiliarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems preferredWork EnvironmentHybrid schedule: In-office Tuesday–Thursday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) in Colorado Springs, CO; remote work optional on Mondays and Fridays10–15% travel requiredMust be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededEqual Opportunity EmployerUSA Triathlon is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
