Job Description
The Charlotte Checkers are seeking a creative, motivated, and passionate Videography Intern for the 2026-27 season.
experience within a premier AHL hockey organization and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a portfolio in sports videography, video production, editing, and digital content creation.

Timeline: September 2026 – April 2027 (or at the completion of Playoffs)Position OverviewThe Videography Intern will work closely with the Creative Services and Partnership Activation teams to capture, produce, and edit engaging video content throughout the season. This role will assist in creating short-form social content, hype videos, player features, highlights, promotional campaigns, sponsorship proof of performance content, and other video assets used throughout the season.
From game nights and practices to community events, player features, and special promotions, this internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in professional sports video production, storytelling, and digital marketing.
The Ideal Candidate Will HaveExperience in videography, video production, or digital mediaA portfolio demonstrating creative video work and editingProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and After EffectsUnderstanding of camera operation, composition, lighting, audio, and video editingStrong understanding of social media platforms and short-form video trendsExcellent attention to detail and creative storytelling abilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projectsStrong communication, organizational, and time-management skillsA positive attitude and willingness to collaborate as part of a teamAs a Videography Intern, Your Responsibilities May IncludeCapturing video during home games, practices, community events, team functions, and special eventsProducing and editing short-form social media videos, hype videos, player features, highlights, promotional campaigns, and behind-the-scenes contentCapturing game action, player interviews, fan experiences, entertainment, and team contentCreating video assets for sponsorship proof of performance and partnership activationAssisting with motion graphics, animations, transitions, and other visual effectsSupporting video content for in-arena displays, digital platforms, social media, and marketing campaignsAssisting with interviews, including camera setup, lighting, audio, and productionOrganizing, labeling, archiving, and maintaining digital video assetsSupporting content planning and execution across digital platformsAssisting with live event production and game-day entertainment elementsCollaborating with staff to ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identityOther duties as assignedInternship RequirementsCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Video Production, Digital Media, Communications, Film, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related fieldHousing and transportation in Charlotte or the surrounding areaAvailability to work home games, select road games, and designated office hoursWorking knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent creative softwareAbility to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality creative standardsPersonal camera equipment and/or laptop preferred but not requiredCompensationThis is a non-paid internship. School credit may be earned if applicable.
