Job Description
Girls Academy CoachPosition OverviewA CCFC MLS NEXT Coach is responsible for leading one or two MLS NEXT Academy teams within the MLS NEXT platform. This role focuses on delivering high-quality training sessions, fostering a competitive and positive team culture, and supporting the long-term development and college aspirations of players.
The Coach reports directly to the MLS NEXT Director and plays a key role in upholding the club’s standards, philosophy, and league compliance.
Primary ResponsibilitiesPlayer Development:Plan and execute structured, age-appropriate training sessionsImplement the club’s curriculum and style of play across one or two assigned teamsPrepare and manage all matches, including league, showcases, and eventsConduct player evaluations and provide consistent development feedbackSupport and track individual development plans (IDPs)Team Management:Foster a competitive, disciplined, and player-centered team cultureCommunicate clearly and professionally with players and familiesManage team rosters, attendance, and travel logisticsEnsure compliance with league standards and roster requirementsLeague & Showcase Participation:Attend all required league games and MLS NEXT eventsSupport players during showcase and recruiting opportunitiesMaintain professional conduct at all league functionsCollege Recruitment Support:Assist players in navigating the college recruitment processCommunicate with college coaches when appropriateProvide recommendations and development feedback to support recruitmentStaff Collaboration:Work collaboratively with the MLS NEXT Director and fellow coachesParticipate in staff meetings and professional development sessionsAlign with CCFC player development standardsQualifications:MLS NEXT Homegrown: USSF C License minimum (B License preferred)MLS NEXT Academy Division: USSF D License minimum (C License preferred)3+ years of competitive youth coaching experienceExperience coaching elite-level boys soccer preferredStrong understanding of player development principlesExcellent communication and organizational skillsAvailability for evening training sessions and weekend travelPreferred:Collegiate playing or coaching experienceExperience within GA, ECNL, MLS NEXT, or similar elite platformsKey Competencies:Leadership and professionalismTactical knowledge and session designPlayer-centered coaching approachParent communication skillsOrganizational reliabilityAbility to manage multiple teams effectivelyGrowth mindset and commitment to continued learningCompensationCompensation commensurate with experience and number of teams assigned.
