Community Mascot Performer

The two-time Calder Cup champion Grand Rapids Griffins, primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and proud member of the American Hockey League, announce an immediate opening for a part-time Community Mascot Performer. Responsibilities:Perform as Griffins mascot Griff during designated community relations appearances and team/sponsor/media eventsEntertain and provide remarkable experiences for a wide variety of audiences while serving as a goodwill ambassador for the organizationHelp care for and maintain the mascot costumeQualifications:A flexible schedule that allows for daytime, evening and weekend appearances (ideal for college students)Ability to interact with people of all ages and backgroundsExpression of a friendly, engaging, enthusiastic and animated personality within a non-speaking roleGood physical condition and ability to withstand the demands of performing in a costume, sometimes in temperature extremesUnquestionably reliable, self-sufficient and professionalEnergetic, outgoing and creativeConduct/behavior that adheres to the organization’s core values, mission and visionMust be at least 18 years old, have your own vehicle and reside in West MichiganPrior mascot or related experience (cheer, theater, gymnastics, dance, etc.d Compensation: $40 per appearance (typical duration 60-90 minutes) plus mileageReports To: • Corporate Partnerships Fulfillment Coordinator Application Deadline: Sept. 1, 2026
