    Job Description

    Summary As a key member of San Diego FC’s Recruitment team, the Scout will help shape the future of the Club by identifying exceptional professional and amateur talent from around the world who have the potential to thrive within the Right to Dream ecosystem. ResponsibilitiesOperate within the methodology and player profiles as set by the groupAttend and observe games and tournaments at professional/amateur level (live & video)Provide written reports on players within the structure set out by the groupProvide video playlists for recommended players via Hudl or WyscoutComplete detailed reports on target playersConduct in-depth research into leagues and potential playersHighlight potential professional/amateur players who fit into group style of play and cultureCreate and maintain a network of contacts with agents, clubs, federations and league officialsUnderstand and comply with the rules and code of conduct for scouts within the values of the groupAvailability to travel to matches and tournaments globallyActively participate in regular department meetings, virtual and in-personAdhere to any other requests that meet the needs of the organizationExperience & Qualifications Prior experience of talent assessment and identification within a professional football club or national federation. Experience working within an elite sporting organization as a scout, analyst or coachHigh level of football knowledge and experience, specifically around playing styles, player profiles and player developmentUnderstanding and ability to use data to make informed decisions on playersKnowledge of how to use social media and the internet to follow transaction trends and key marketsExperience in scouting and data technologies like: Statsbomb, Wyscout, Impect, Skillcorner etc. Strong understanding of the US professional setup and pathwayStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and leadership qualitiesDegree in related field or equivalent experiencePassport and ability to travel domestically and abroadPreferredTalent ID certificate within USSF, FA or equivalent qualificationsBilingual (English/ French) or multi-lingual fluencyCoaching badges a plusPlaying experience a plusWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
