ROLE OVERVIEWSenior / Head Coaches are responsible for owning the success of a Travel Team (or Teams) and serving as key leaders within the New York Empire Baseball coaching organization. about all aspects of the Program and their own child’s and team’s development and programming. This role carries both technical leadership and people leadership expectations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES· Serve as Head Coach for one or more Travel Teams, owning player development, team performance, and culture.· Deliver high-quality instruction that aligns with New York Empire Baseball’s methods, models, and developmental philosophy, and supports long-term athletic development.· Prepare for and execute assigned sessions, practices, and programs with discipline, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.· Work collaboratively with Assistant Coaches and other New York Empire Baseball coaches and Player Development Staff during team practices and programming.· Set expectations for preparation, effort, behavior, and accountability amongst all staff and players.· Contribute to training content execution and reinforcement across programs.· Support the development of Assistant and Lead Coaches through feedback, modeling, and guidance.· Communicate proactively with families regarding player and team expectations, development, and program structure.· Represent New York Empire Baseball’s standards and values across all environments and interactions.· Shepherd and steward New York Empire Baseball’s culture and values – evangelizing players, teams, and parents.· Ensuring a collaborative and inclusive environment and relationships among players, teams, and parents. QUALIFICATIONS· Significant experience in baseball coaching, instruction, and team leadership.· Strong ability to manage group dynamics and develop players over time.· Confidence communicating with families and representing the organization.· Alignment with New York Empire Baseball’s values, culture, and long-term development philosophy.· Desire to grow as a leader within the organization.
