About the Binghamton Rumble Ponies:The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, are set to begin their 35 season at Mirabito Stadium in April 2026.
Overview: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized, results-oriented sales professional that will be instrumental in announcing all 138 Rumble Ponies’ games on its radio affiliate, WNBF 1290AM, coordinating media relations, and assisting with development of creative content for digital and mainstream platforms to attract fans and promote the Rumble Ponies’ brand.
ResponsibilitiesLive Game Broadcasting: Deliver engaging and descriptive play-by-play commentary for all home and away games on radio or streaming platforms, often working alongside a color analyst.
Production & Engineering: Operate the broadcast control console, soundboard, and other audio/video equipment to ensure a seamless and professional broadcast. This may also include coordinating live streams and managing commercial breaks.
Production and Editing: Operating other miscellaneous audio/video equipment, editing highlights and interviews, and producing daily feature elements for various platforms.
Social Media/Digital Media: Assisting the Marketing and Social Media team with the content creation of player/coach interviews, player spotlight pieces, and highlight assets that can be used on bingrp.com and Rumble Ponies' social media.
Hosting Duties: Hosting pre-game, post-game shows, and other events as needed; conducting interviews with players and coaches; and sometimes acting as the public address (PA) announcer.
Media Relations: Coordinate and conduct interviews with players, coaches, and staff for pre-game, in-game, and post-game shows.
Content Creation: Research team statistics, player backgrounds, and storylines to provide insightful commentary. Write and edit scripts, game notes, and other materials for the broadcast, website, and social media channels.
Marketing & Promotions: Record sponsor commercials and make promotional appearances at public or charity events to represent the team and engage with the community.
Promotional Appearances: Representing the organization at community events and making promotional appearances. Logistics & Operations: Manage media credentials, maintain the press box, and assist with general game-day operations.
Travel: Travel with the team for away games, coordinating broadcast locations and equipment needs at different stadiums. Assist full-time staff with tarp during home games.
