    Job Description

    Kernels & Bucks Ticketing & Group Sales InternWant to work in a fun, fast-paced sports environment? experience in ticketing, sales, and event operations with both the Cedar Rapids Kernels (High-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, Midwest League) and the Waterloo Bucks (Northwoods League). Both teams are owned by the Cedar Rapids Ball Club, Inc. Primary ResponsibilitiesTicket Sales & Customer ServiceSell and manage group outings (15–250+ guests), ticket packages, and single-game tickets for both the Kernels and Bucks. Generate sales primarily through phone calls and email outreach. Maintain accurate records of sales calls, leads, and transactions. Work directly with the Group Sales Reps to coordinate and finalize group bookings. Game Day OperationsAssist with Kernels home games and special events (expect 50+ hours/week in season). Support pre-game setup, ticketing, guest services, promotions, and other assigned duties. Operate the Will Call window and assist in box office operations during games. Help manage game day staff (ushers, security, ticket takers, etc.) and provide customer service support throughout the season. Ticket Office SupportAssist in the Ticket Office with day-to-day operations, including scheduling part-time staff and ensuring smooth box office function. Learn and help train others on the Kernels’ ticketing system. Print and distribute group tickets, coordinate with the Ticket Manager, and ensure all ticket orders are processed accurately. Participate in planning and executing promotional, community, and theme nights. Additional DutiesSupport non-game day events, ballpark promotions, and special functions. Assist with concessions operations as needed (no cooking required). Collaborate with fellow interns on initiatives such as 50/50 raffle ticket sales. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a great fan experience. QualificationsStrong interest in sports management, marketing, or sales. Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills. Commitment to outstanding customer service and teamwork. Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends. Previous customer service or supervisory experience preferred but not required. Must be available part-time (Jan–Mar 2027) and full-time (Mar–Sept 2027).
