Organization: Muskegon LumberjacksTitle: Spring Semester Social Media InternEmployment Type: Unpaid on-site Internship for college credit, potential for full-time employment upon completion of internshipLocation:Trinity Health Arena: 470 W Western Ave, Muskegon, MI 49440 The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud and dedicated members of the United States Hockey League (USHL), the nation’s only Tier I junior hockey league and leading producer of NCAA players and National Hockey League draft picks in the United States.
experience. Interns will work with the Director of Communications and Broadcasting, as well as the digital media team, to create and execute a media plan for the team. TermThis internship will run from January 2026 through the end of the USHL season, concluding in May, depending on playoff results.
Responsibilities Include Assist with creating, scheduling, and executing content across all Muskegon Lumberjacks social media platformsHelp develop and implement creative social media campaigns to promote games, promotions, merchandise, and eventsCapture real-time game day content, including photos, videos, Stories, and behind-the-scenes momentsAssist with creative planning and execution of game day promotions and on-ice entertainmentEngage with fans both online and in person by answering questions and enhancing the fan experienceHelp gather engagement data and fan feedback to support social media strategyHelp organize and maintain a digital asset libraryOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDWorking towards a Bachelor’s in Sports Media (Communications), Sports Management (Business), or equivalent area of studyExperience with photo and video editing software is requiredA reliable form of transportationStrong knowledge of hockey is preferred but not requiredAbility to work during all Lumberjacks home games, including nights and weekendsAbility to multitask and maintain strong prioritization and organizational skills in a fast-paced environmentExtremely coachable and willing to learn every day For more information about the Muskegon Lumberjacks, please visit muskegonlumberjacks.com.
