The OpportunityMajor League Cricket is seeking a Finance Manager to play a critical role in strengthening and scaling the league’s finance function as the organization enters its next phase of growth. Reporting to the VP, Finance, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day management of accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and budget execution across MLC’s portfolio. The Finance Manager will partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure strong financial discipline, reliable reporting, and adherence to established financial controls and procurement processes. This is a hands-on role suited to a finance professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of technical accounting, operational execution, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, evolving organization.

You’ll play a central role in building the financial foundations of a rapidly scaling sports organization at a pivotal moment in its evolution. As Major League Cricket grows in complexity, visibility, and ambition, this role is critical to ensuring the clarity, discipline, and governance required to support confident decision-making and sustainable long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Financial Operations Manage day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
Own key elements of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
Perform hands-on accounting activities, including posting journal entries, preparing accruals, and resolving reconciliation issues as required to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements across ACE and its related entities. Financial Reporting, Controls & ComplianceProduce monthly financial reporting and variance analysis to support executive and departmental decision-making.
Maintain and strengthen financial controls, policies, and procedures as the organization continues to scale.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
Assist with tax compliance activities, including preparation and review of information required for federal, state, and local tax filings in coordination with external advisors Budget Management, Procurement & Business PartnershipPartner with budget owners across all areas of the organization to support effective budget planning and delivery. Monitor performance against approved budgets, proactively identifying risks, pressures, and mitigation actions.
Support reforecasting and scenario analysis to reflect evolving operational and commercial priorities.
Ensure spend is incurred in accordance with approved budgets, financial delegations, and MLC procurement policies.
Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes, purchase approvals, vendor onboarding, and contract-related financial requirements. Process Improvement & SystemsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, transparency, and scalability across finance and procurement workflows.
Support the effective use and ongoing optimization of financial systems and tools.
Ideal Candidate:Experience4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or financial operations, ideally in sports, entertainment, media, or a fast-paced brand environment.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and budget management.
Exposure to tax compliance, internal controls, and multi-entity accounting structures is desirable.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in using Xero or other similar cloud-based accounting platforms is preferred.
EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA or CPA-track candidate strongly preferred.
Skills & AttributesStrong technical accounting knowledge and exceptional attention to detail.
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with cloud-based accounting and reporting tools.
Clear understanding of financial controls, compliance requirements, and procurement governance.
Ability to translate financial information into clear, decision-useful insights for non-finance stakeholders.
Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset.
