    Job Description

OverviewThe Operations Supervisor supervises and coordinates event setup activities and operations for the facility and provides responsible staff assistance to the Director of Event Operations. ResponsibilitiesAssume supervisor responsibility for all services and activities involved in the operations of all venue and exhibition & convention spacesProvide staff training for all employees and temporary workersEnsure staff is working safely and are aware of proper safety guidelinesResponsible for understanding, complying with, and execute parameters of Collective Bargaining AgreementLead/coordinate staff training and safety programsMentor/coach employees to correct deficiencies; present/discuss discipline and termination procedures in a timely fashion; work with Human Resources as requiredAssist or lead planning and coordinating and review of work plans for facility operationsReview and understand event documents to forecast staffing and equipment needs for all Arena & Convention eventsCoordinate facility arrangements with concessionaires and AVSupervise and monitor changeover and housekeeping crews; provide team support as requiredSchedule appropriate changeover and housekeeping crews for a large group of employees accurately and efficiently and adjust/notify employees of updates/changes as necessaryMaintains departmental equipment; notify Operations Manager when repairs are neededProvide excellent customer service to internal and external clients to provide a positive employee climateQualifications2-3 years’ experience in an operations position in an arena, convention center, or public assembly facility with knowledge of set up/housekeeping and event coordination, including supervisory responsibility. High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Familiarity with OSHA requirements. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and an extended number of consecutive days. Strong communications skills.
