    Job Title: Merchandise & Retail Operations InternDepartment: Retail / MerchandiseReports To: ControllerPosition Type: Internship (Seasonal, Part-Time)Position SummaryThe Merchandise & Retail Operations Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the Hot Rods Body Shop while gaining hands-on experience in retail management, merchandising, inventory control, and fan engagement within a professional sports environment. experience throughout the season. This is a paid internship. Office hours expectation of 3 days a week, paid by stipend and game-day hours are paid hourly. Learning ObjectivesThis internship provides practical experience in:Sports retail and merchandise operationsInventory management and point-of-sale systemsFan engagement and customer serviceE-commerce and website maintenanceGame-day operations in Minor League BaseballEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with receiving and organizing licensed merchandiseEnd of Month Inventory countsHelp maintain daily operations of the Hot Rods Body Shop, ensuring a clean, organized, and fan-friendly retail spaceEnter merchandise into the point-of-sale (POS) system and assist with accurate pricing and setupAssist in maintaining and updating the team’s online merchandise website, including product listings, pricing, and availability/inventorySupport visual merchandising efforts to enhance product presentation and maximize salesProvide excellent customer service by engaging with fans and assisting with questions or purchasesAssist with game-day retail operations, including setup, staffing support, and breakdownPerform additional duties as assigned to support merchandise and retail operationsQualificationsCurrent undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, preferably in sports management, marketing, business, or a related fieldStrong organizational skills and attention to detailComfortable working with technology, including POS systems and basic websites or e-commerce toolsStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAvailability to work 15–20 office hours per week plus home games, nights, weekends, and holidays as requiredPreferred Skills and AttributesInterest in sports, retail, or fan engagementExperience with retail, e-commerce platforms a plusReliable, motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environmentAbility to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting merchandise as neededWork EnvironmentThis internship operates in both office and stadium retail settings. Interns will gain exposure to behind-the-scenes operations and live game-day environments, requiring flexibility and adaptability throughout the season.
