The Legends Global culture is one of respect, ambitious thinking, collaboration, and bold action. responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to general accounting functions, financial reporting and analysis, event settlements, A/R and A/P processing, payroll processing, audit assistance, monthly/year-end close processing as well as other various functions. The staff accountant will work closely with the Accounting Supervisor and the Director of Finance and assist with any projects as necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for maintaining the accuracy and credibility of the General Ledger by monitoring GL activity, trial balance and key account reconciliations, preparing GL entries and maintaining supporting records, processing daily cash deposits, reconciling cash transactions, and analyzing GL account information to assist in preparing financial statements. Demonstrate sound accounting practice and skills in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, preparing and remitting Sales & Use tax reports, performing month and year-end duties, investigating, and resolving errors, and tracking event expenses and revenues to update flash reporting and forecasting models. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing and challenging current procedures for effectiveness and efficiency; provide recommendations and implementation plans for any suggested changes. Support AR processes including verifying the accuracy of general ledger coding and entering accounts receivable invoices. Learn and become familiar with the payroll process. Update key accounting schedules for event and non-event accrued expenses. Prepare and perform bank reconciliations. Participate in monthly variance analysis for each department. Assist Director of Finance with projects. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAssociate's degree in Accounting or related field,1-2 years of related accounting experience,Or a similar combination of education and experience. SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of financial and cost accounting. Extensive knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office. Excellent math skills and attention to detail. Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management, vendors, and clients. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision. Occasionally required to work irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. PHYSICAL DEMANDSClose vision for review of accounting information on a PC monitor or hard copy output. Regular use of hands for typing and coding information is required. Required to sit for long hours, use hands to handle files, type, and operate office machines. You may be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function.
