POSITION SUMMARY:The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of the operations of the facility including but not limited to maintenance, housekeeping, retail, adventure/climbing area, food & beverage, event management, front desk administration and reporting, The Operations Manager will also work closely with other departments in hiring, training, and staff scheduling. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Hiring, training, mentoring, supervising, and scheduling facility Team MembersOversee daily operations setup and break down of all Tournaments & Special Events of assigned facility areas and help ensure the building is prepared for leagues, tournaments, camps, rentals, and special events. Oversee front-line Team Members to ensure compliance with SFC Policies and additional applicable lawsOversee the administration and high level of detail required in the organization of events Primary contact for all events after they have been contractedEvent development in-house and co-partnershipsAssisting with sponsorship sales, as neededServing as Manager-on-Duty ("MOD") Negotiates and produces contracts for relevant vendors building a good working relationshipCloses liaison and communication with other departments within the Events team including Marketing and Sales Manages health & safety, quality control, expense management, security, procedures, and facility maintenanceOversee proper cash handling procedures Hires, trains, and educates staff on proper event and safety proceduresEnsure staff is prepared for eventsContributes to facility business plan and executionManages Operations and Food and Beverage departmentOversee and makes sure all certifications are updated and renewed on timeAll additional tasks assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or related field and 3-5 years appropriate experience preferred Food service and food service management experience preferredMust have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skillsMust be a team playerMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified periodPrior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversightWell organized, efficient, flexible, and able to meet deadlinesWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bendWill be required to operate a computerFacility has intermittent noise
