Job Description
Position OverviewThe Brandon Wheat Kings are seeking a highly motivated Creative Content & Fan Engagement Specialist to enhance brand presence and drive fan engagement across all marketing channels.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage engaging content for various platforms, including social media, team websites, and newsletters to excite, grow and retain fans.
Develop strategies to enhance fan interaction both online and in-person, including organizing fan events, contests, and live interactions during games.
Oversee the team's social media accounts, crafting posts that reflect the team's brand and resonate with fans, and monitoring engagement metrics.
Collaborate with marketing to ensure all content supports the team's brand identity and marketing objectives with call to actionsWork with designers and videographers to produce dynamic visual content, including game highlights, player interviews, and promotional videos.
Build and maintain relationships with fan clubs and community groups to foster a strong fan base.
Track and analyze content performance and fan engagement metrics to refine strategies and report on successes and areas for improvement.
SkillsUnderstanding key components of the hockey season and events - Including but not limited to regular season and playoff games, community events, ticketing renewals, drafts, etc.
Proficiency in creating compelling written and visual content tailored to various platforms and audiences.
Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey the team's message.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
Ability to work collaboratively with different departments, including marketing, PR, and player personnel.
SkillsExperience with video editing software to create engaging multimedia content.
Skills in graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Suite for creating visual content.
Familiarity with fan engagement platforms and CRM systems.
Experience in organizing and executing fan events and community outreach initiatives. Performance MetricsStaying ahead of Team critical dates/events/call to actions: Readiness for business prior to games, events, with a high expectation of self-driven management of the content and call to actions.
Engagement Rates: Measure the interaction on social media posts, including likes, shares, comments, and overall reach.
Content Reach: Track the number of views and interactions on content across platforms.
Fan Growth: Monitor the increase in followers and subscribers on social media and other channels.
Event Participation: Evaluate attendance and participation in fan events and initiatives.
Brand Sentiment: Use surveys and feedback to assess fan sentiment and brand perception.
Conversion Rates: Track how content and engagement efforts lead to ticket sales, merchandise purchases, and other revenue streams.
Qualifications & ExperiencePost-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field2–5 years of experience in content creation, digital marketing, or brand managementDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and design toolsExperience using analytics tools to measure and optimize performanceStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and a portfolio of relevant work to [email protected].
