NHRA continues to race forward with a number of key initiatives, including a multiyear partnership with FOX Sports to televise NHRA events from the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and the Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. FOX Sports networks aired more than 500 hours of programming throughout the year, highlighted by 20+ race-day shows, including eight on FOX’s national network, in addition to qualifying broadcasts throughout the weekend. NHRA fans continue to be some of the most loyal in any sport.
Position Summary:The Facility & Operations Supervisor reports to the Gainesville Raceway General Manager and works alongside the Gainesville Raceway Management and Operations staff. The Facility & Operations Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of the Gainesville Raceway facility and race operations oversight. This includes, but is not limited to, property landscaping, building maintenance, track prep, and service of race operations equipment and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Hire, schedule, and supervise seasonal and event employees, focused on facility events and maintenance operations.
Makes recommendations for developing, budgeting, and implementing physical improvements/repairs, capital purchases, track rentals, racing, and promotional programs.
Implement and execute maintenance schedules for the facility and equipment.
Supervises and coordinates all activities relating to event/track preparation and clean-up.
Ensures the ambitious standards of worker safety are developed, met, and maintained at the facility.
Always ensures the maintenance of a manicured facility.
Ensures that Gainesville Raceway continues to maintain a positive image in the racing community.
Greet and assist all guests at the track, giving great service and going the extra quarter mile every time.
Maintains a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and consistency in all work.
Responsible for helping oversee all facility preparation responsibilities from organizing, executing, and maintaining.
May attend and participate in other NHRA event preparation and learnings.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:A minimum of 2 years of post-high school education (college, technical school, vocational training) is required.
Over 2 years of experience supervising staff is required.
A minimum of 2 years working in the motorsports industry is required.
Strong working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
Dragstrip track prep experience is a plus.
Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
Demonstrates the ability to perform efficiently under pressure or within tight deadlines while consistently delivering accurate results.
Demonstrates initiative and perseverance in leadership, exhibits strong analytical skills, and effectively resolves problems with minimal supervision.
Must be able to handle sounds at a high volume.
Excellent ability to communicate clearly and effectively with vendors, racers, crew members, guests, coworkers, and all levels of management.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work at a computer as needed.
Ability to talk on the phone as needed.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, run, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Must be able to enforce all facility policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
Ability to work well within a team and independently.
Ability to follow and understand verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to work outdoors in potentially extreme temperatures for 12-14+ hours as needed.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under NHRA's insurance policy. Must be flexible with meal and rest periods.
