Senior Director, Commerce

Job Summary:As the Senior Director, Commerce, you will lead Angel City FC’s merchandise and retail business, translating the club’s brand into products that fuel fandom and drive revenue. You will develop diverse product lines (from kits and evergreen merchandise to lifestyle collaborations and licensing), and own multi-channel retail operations (e-commerce, in-stadium retail, and pop-ups). You will lead a small team of specialists and work closely with our creative, integrated marketing, consumer data & insights, and partnerships teams. The ideal candidate is equal parts brand builder and business operator: they understand the cultural power of merchandise in women’s sports, while running the function with commercial rigor, operational discipline, and creative flair. Key Responsibilities:Strategy & LeadershipDefine and execute Angel City’s merchandising and retail strategySet annual revenue and margin targets; manage budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning for commerceBuild and mentor a small but mighty commerce team (Senior Manager and Coordinator), fostering a culture of creativity, agility, and commercial excellenceOversee relationships with Nike, Fanatics, licensees, and distribution partners, ensuring innovation and operational excellenceMerchandise Development & LicensingLead product calendar development — core kits, seasonal lines, evergreen essentials, and limited-edition collaborationsOversee all product development processes: design briefs, approvals, sampling, and production timelinesEnsure a strong connection to trends and infuse learnings regularly with design to ensure the relevancy of the productExpand Angel City’s licensing and co-branded product portfolio to unlock new global audiencesRetail & E-Commerce OperationsOversee multi-channel retail operations: e-commerce (Shopify), stadium store, pop-ups, and wholesale. Ensure strong operational execution — inventory management, fulfillment, customer service, and retail experienceSupport Sr. Requirements:7+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, retail or consumer products, ideally with exposure to sports, lifestyle, or fashion brandsProven success in building and scaling a commerce function, with measurable revenue and margin growthStrong understanding of licensing, vendor management, and product development processesDemonstrated ability to blend creative brand storytelling with operational and financial discipline. Experience managing e-commerce platforms (Shopify or equivalent) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Comfort operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments. Passion for Angel City’s mission and women’s sportsCompensationThe base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility.
