    Job Description

    The Port Huron Prowlers offer a collaborative and community-focused environment where interns gain direct experience in professional hockey. experiences, promotions, and community events. Location: On-siteInternship term: October-DecemberReports to: Marketing Strategist Schedule: Approximately 5 hours per week during weeks when the team is away, increasing to 15-20 hours during home game weeks. Interns will submit their availability in advance for each upcoming month, and the marketing strategist will assign shifts based on availability, team needs, and the event schedule. Schedules will be set in advance to provide a predictable schedule while accommodating class schedules and allowing interns to update their availability each month. Compensation: This is an unpaid internship offering hands-on experience in professional hockey, with opportunities to develop skills in community engagement and promotions, game-day operations, and experiential marketing. requirements. Role summaryThe Fall Fan Engagement Intern will work closely with the Marketing Strategist and marketing team to support the Port Huron Prowlers’ experiential marketing efforts. skills in fan engagement, event coordination, and experiential marketing. Responsibilities Assist with executing interactive game-day initiatives, including on-ice intermission events, promotional activities, and distributing promotional items Facilitate the Kids Zone and assist with activities designed to engage young fansAssist with the preparation of materials, setup, execution, and breakdown of promotional events, sponsor activations, and other game-day activities in coordination with the Marketing Strategist Attend home games, community events, team appearances, and off-site promotional activities as assignedAttend meetings with the Marketing Strategist and marketing team to plan and prepare for upcoming games, events, and promotional activitiesContribute creative concepts for events and fan engagement activations that align with the team's brand identity, audience, and promotional goalsCreate positive fan experiences by engaging with fans and suite members, representing the team in a professional and enthusiastic mannerOther duties as assigned to support the team’s fan engagement, marketing, and community outreach effortsQualificationsInterest in marketing, communications, public relations, sports management, event management, or a related field Creative mindset with the ability to contribute ideas for fan engagement activities and events Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively with fans, families, and suite members in a professional mannerPrevious experience in customer service, event support, fan engagement, or a related area preferredEducational goalsApply principles of experiential marketing in a professional sports environmentDevelop practical experience planning and executing interactive game-day activities, promotional events, and sponsor activationsGain an understanding of how game-day experiences and community events can be used to engage audiences, strengthen fan relationships, and build brand loyaltyCultivate communication, teamwork, and event coordination skills through hands-on experience working with fans, staff, and community partnersWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
